Michael Lee,
CEO and Managing Partner

Prior to Cogiliant, Michael has been a director of consulting and the leader of Korean Service Group of Deloitte Russia and CIS about 5 years. He has over 23 years in consulting and 16 years of business process re-engineering with various industries including automotive, manufacturing, retail, consumer products, energy, life science, and IT industries. With over 18 years of big 4 experiences (pwc and Deloitte), he has successfully led the Korean Service Group of Deloitte Russia and other CIS countries during last four and half years with the substantial revenue records for the firm. Michael also has been well known as the professional who has the largest Korean community networks in Russia supporting Korean clients with all service lines including audit, tax, financial advisory, and consulting.
He has his specialties in accounting, business strategies, process optimization, re-engineering, information strategic planning, and EPR implementation as he had many global experiences in multi-national companies of US and S. Korea. Also, he managed several of over 10 million USD projects as the project and program manager.
As the leader of Korean Service Group of Deloitte, he has been successfully maintained our crown-jewel accounts like Hyundai/KIA Motor Company and its family companies as well as CJ, Hyosung, LG Electronics. Now Michael has been working as the managing partner of Cogiliant making major Korean client sales and supervising all quality of client deliveries.

Roman Tarasov, Partner of Legal

Roman has substantial experience in commercial, corporate and anti-trust law. During his professional career he has been focusing on rendering services to retail companies and has broad experience in supporting restructuring and reorganization projects.
Roman’s experience includes:

  • Legal support to investment projects in automotive and manufacturing companies, including full scope legal support of the construction and commissioning of an industrial park for suppliers of Hyundai Suppliers;
  • Site selection projects for Hyundai Motor Company, Goodyear, Great Wall, Lifan and support with negotiations with the authorities, drafting of investment agreements;
  • Substantial experience providing legal support during corporate restructurings, including advising of Lotte Confectionary, as well as leading legal merger project for Russian entities of Toyota Motor;
  • Representation of clients in Russian courts, including the Russian Supreme Court and the International Arbitration Court;
  • Advisory on SPICs to varies companies as well as drafting of SPICs;

Prior to joining the firm, Roman practiced as legal director of Deloitte Russia, leading legal services related to the North region, as well as automotive and manufacturing industries all over Russia. He was in charge of rendering legal services to Korean companies. Roman has experience of long –term cooperation with leading Korean law firms, including Yulchon, Kim&Chang and Ashurst.

Master’s degree in law, St. Petersburg State University School of Law (L.LM).

Aleksei Melnikov, Partner of Tax

Aleksei leads tax practice of the firm. He has over 16 years of experience in tax and legal advisory with the particular focus on complex tax matters related to domestic and cross-border transactions, tax disputes resolution as well as advising on various issues related to government incentives (including tax concessions).
He is also specialized on advising international investors in respect to setting up and structuring of their operations in Russia, corporate reorganization and restructuring, M&A, CFC, transfer pricing as well as support of client’s tax audits. He deals with the Russian tax authorities both before and during tax audits.
Alexei has strong experience in advising on practical aspects of implementation of tax incentives. Also, Aleksei spent more than 9 years with Deloitte Russia as tax director of Tax & Legal Services. Before to his move to Deloitte he worked in tax and legal department of BDO Russia (the largest non-Big4 international assurance services firm) and headed the litigation department of the Federal Tax Service for the North-West Region.

Anar Zeletdinov, Director of Accounting

Anar is a certified specialist in finance, accounting and tax accounting, with 10 years of experience in managing large companies with turnovers from 1 billion rubles. He graduated from Moscow State Construction University with a degree in accounting, analysis and audit and holds certificates of Chief Accountant and Financial Director (CFO). In addition to his knowledge of finance and tax accounting, he has strong technical skills that allow him to use the highest level of accounting software, including products such as 1C ERP and 1C Integrated Automation. Due to these skills, any foreign company can start a business in the Russian Federation with a strong infrastructure of IT, communication and control over its business already at the start. As Anar is fluent in English, this allows him to maintain excellent communication with clients, head offices, as well as interaction between Russian and foreign employees. Anar’s language abilities and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, in addition to his professional capabilities, make him an excellent fit for the preparation of financial statements for foreign companies as well as for the transition to IFRS.
